How Firmspace Atlanta Gave the KP Law Group Room to Grow

When Kristen Pitts founded KP Law Group, a personal injury law firm, in April 2020, the pandemic had already shut down cities around the country.

She and her two employees started out in a managed office space before transitioning to a coworking space’s “virtual office” plan that would allow them to spend some time in a formal office space while working remotely. But it didn’t offer them the privacy, resources, or flexibility they needed.

After just four months, they made the move to Firmspace Atlanta, where they were among the first members.

Today, she says, “Firmspace allows us to offer a greater level of service than we could on our own had we been in an a non-coworking space.” Here’s how the proworking model works for this law firm.

Challenge: The Need for a Dedicated Office Space

From the start, Kristen was looking for a polished space that would impress clients. To meet her firm’s needs, her team needed private office space and access to conference rooms. While her team mostly works remotely, they needed a hub where they could leave their things and know everything would be secure overnight.

At their old coworking space, they simply didn’t have a dedicated office space and found the lack of amenities included in their “virtual office” subscription to be inadequate.

As a small business in its first year, it was particularly challenging to feel nickel and dimed as they were discovering what their office space needs are. Renting a conference room or using a printer added lines to their monthly bill, and the unpredictability of this model during an already unpredictable time was not sustainable.

Solution: Office Space and Amenities that Meet the Needs of a Private Law Firm

When Kristen returned to the coworking and flexible office space marketplace, she found that Firmspace Atlanta has the amenities they needed at a consistent price, and it’s all included in one consistent monthly bill. Kristen’s team appreciates that her team gets access to:

  • An affordable, private office with two desks

  • Conference and meeting rooms available by reservation

  • A fully stocked printer and copier

But there were also benefits they discovered after moving in, including an onsite notary service, which has been an unexpected source of cost savings: “I didn’t know I was looking for that, but it’s a great amenity because we use that a lot at our law office.”

And they don’t just benefit from having their own private office space with doors that lock. “Firmspace has a lot of private areas in the common spaces that are open, but there are so many that barely anyone passes by that still feel intimate where we can work without interruption.”

Results: The Right Amenities and Room to Grow

The KP Law Group has grown rapidly in its first year and plans to continue on that trajectory, and Kristen says Firmspace Atlanta has helped with that.

“Having a dedicated space that legitimizes your business matters,” Kristen says. “Firmspace provides a level of access to amenities that makes our group look larger, even though we’re in a coworking space.”

Her team also appreciates that the other members are also professionals who value collegial relationships. It helps increase her group’s visibility and provides a great atmosphere for her team of three.

Kristen also cited the Firmspace staff as a deciding factor. “Firmspace does a really good job hiring very helpful professional staff. As the first impression for our clients, it’s helpful to us in maintaining the business. Their support, with the amenities, makes Firmspace incomparable to anything I’ve seen in Atlanta.”
